"In the India Office Library there is a very valuable and interesting manuscript containing Tipu Sultan's dreams 'in his own handwriting'. It was discovered by Colonel Kirkpatrick among other memorabila in the Sultan's private bedchamber when the Palace was subjected to a thorough search after the fall of Seringapatam in 1799. Habibullah, the Munshi of Tipu Sultan was supposed to be present at the time the manuscript was discovered."
