Kamil VÃ¡clav Zvelebil (1927 - 2009) was a distinguished Czech scholar in Indian literature and linguistics and held faculty appointments at the University of Chicago, the CollÃ¨ge de France in Paris and the University of Utrecht (among others), where he taught until his retirement in 1992. He is the author of several authoritative volumes on Sanskrit and Tamil studies.
