Any clue about location please?
Any clue..... about this location please?
The clue is - "South India" & its pair landscape of the same time (1820) by Thomas Daniell titled " Hilly Landscape in South India" . Perhaps, these were undertaken somewhere near the hill forts (south of Bangalore), which the Daniells visited after the British defeated Tipu in 1792. This pair painting may help identify the precise spot ( http://collections.britishart.yale.edu/vufind/Record/1670836 )
