This place looks like the location where Movie Sholay was shot which also happens to be near Mysore

Sholay was shot at Ramnagaram near Bangalore.

It is in Krishnagiri district, then a part of Bara Mahal under Haider Ali's Mysore, before it was ceded to Madras, hence the possible confusion
