Coloured lithograph of a view of Vasota by A. Picken after an original drawing by Baron A Friedel (fl.1833). Plate 8 of 'Eight Most Splendid Views of India, sketched by an Officer in the Indian Army' printed by Baron A Friedel in London in 1833.

Vasota is situated at the head of a small valley south of Satara in the modern state of Maharashtra. The fort was a principal centre of Maratha power in the 17th and 18th centuries. In 1818, it was captured by the British.
