The sword grinder (Jodhpur) - by Mabel Royds

Colour woodcut, in the Japanese manner, predominantly in beige, grey-brown and orange

Mabel Royds was a colour woodcut artist. b. at Little Barford, Bedfordshire, later moved to Liverpool, trained Slade; then in Paris where knew Sickert. Later member of staff of Edinburgh School of Art. Married to E S Lumsden. In India 1914-18, whence much later subject matter.

Fascinating. A woodcut in the Japanese style depicting an Indian stone grinder done by an English artist, Mabel Royds, and it's beautiful!
